April 23rd has been declared PAAYPA Day in the City of Pittsburgh by City Council

Click here to view Proclomation WHEREAS, The Pittsburgh Asian American Young Professional Association (PAAYPA) provides an environment for Asian-American young professionals to share and exchange ideas in order to promote cultural and professional growth in the Pittsburgh community; and

WHEREAS, the PAAYPA is dedicated to the goal of increasing awareness of societal and politically relevant issues, and hopes ultimately to help youn Asian-American professionals to rediscover their cultural heritage while giving back to the Asian-American community in Pittsburgh; and

WHEREAS, the growing Asian American community in Pittsburgh's East End has and will continue to diversify and improve the quality of life and community throughout the CIty of Pittsburgh; and

WHEREAS, Frank Yining Liu is a Professor of Law with tenure, and Director of the Law Library at Duquesne University; and

WHEREAS, Professor Liu has worked tirelessly throughout his career to serve the Pittsburgh community, and to promote cultural understanding between the people of the United States and the people fo the People's Republic of China.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh applauds the efforts of the Pittsburgh Asian American Young Professionals Association and Professor Frank Yining LIu, and declares April 23rd, 2002 Pittsburgh Asian American Young Professional Association and Professor Frank Yining Liu Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
